Lhasa-Ganden - Samye trek Fly In/Fly Out (11 Days)
Ganden Samye trekking is one of the most famous and adventurous trekking in Tibet. This trek begins from a Ganden Valley visiting a famous Ganden Monastery which is situated about 45 Kms east of Lhasa on the highway which follows the south bank of Kyi Chu to Medro Gongkar. This is an excellent basic trek which combines important historical sites with a beautiful hike through high-altitude nomadic areas.Our trek involves a steady climb over a pass to the high altitude (above 5000m) pastures only used by nomads in the summer months. We continue in these highlands through gentle hills and past remote lakes before crossing another pass and dropping into the sheltered valley of Yamalung. Finally we turn into the wide Tsangpo (Brahmaputra) valley and its rolling sand dunes. Finally we will reach to a Samye valley where our trekking ends. Samye valley is famous for a samye monastery one of the oldest monastery in tibet. After spending a day at Samye valley we will drive toward the Gongar Airport for our final departure.
Itinerary:
Day 1: Fly to Lhasa and transfer to Hotel. Day 2-3: Two days sight seeing in Lhasa. (Visit Potala Palace, Sera Monastry, Drepung Monastry, Norbulingkha, Jokhangn Temple and Barkhor market. Day 4: Drive from Lhasa to Ganden. Day 5-9: 5 Days trek from Ganden to samye. Day 10: Samye to Tsedang.(Visit Samye Monastry, Yambu Lakhang Palace and Tombs of the ancient Tibetan Kings. Day 11: Transfer to airport for departure.
