The famous temple of Lord Muktinath is situated about 18 kms north east of Jomsom in the north central part of Jomsom in the north central part of Nepal, at an altitude of about 3750m. The sight of the bewildering Annapurna and Dhaulagiri mountain ranges will enchant you as you approach towards Pokhara valley by air or surface from Kathmandu.
Muktinath is of the religious importance to both Hindus and Buddhist. The main shrine of
Muktinath is a pagoda-shaped temple dedicated to the Lord Vishnu. In the walls around the
temple are 108 waterspouts. The Jwala Mai Temple near has a spring and eternal flame fed by natural gas. It is believed that one should visit this temple after completing Pilgrimage of
four special religions sites in India. That’s “Chardham Yatra”. The serenity of the place
really soothes your bird and beckons you into spiritualistic journey. You will enjoy
panoramic views all around.
