Jungle Safari in Nepal

Royal Chitwan National Park:
The Park is listed as a world Heritage site and is the most popular safari destination in Nepal. It lies 120 km south-west of Kathmandu with an area of 932 sq. km. It covers a unique ecosystem, containing hills, ox-bow lakes and flood plains. Dominated by sal forests, the park has 50 species of grasses. The 43 species of animals include the endangered one-horned rhino, Royal Bengal tiger, Ghariyal, crocodile, gaur, wild elephant, four –horned antelope, striped hyena, pangolin, Genetic dolphin, monitor lizard and pythons. More than 440 species of birds are found in this ornithologist’s heaven, including the giant hornbill, the rare Bengal florican and the paradise flycatcher.
Royal Bardia National Park:
The park is the largest and most undisturbed wilderness area situated south-west of Nepal. It lies 585 km Away from Kathmandu. It is thickly forested by sal trees and is carpeted with grass, savannah and riverine forest. It is a regenerated habitat for endangered species like the rhinoceros, wild elephant, tiger, and swamp deer, black buck, gharial crocodile and Gangetic dolphin. Endangered birds include the Bengal florican, silver – eared mesia and sarus crane.
