At all the Hotels, regardless of size or star rating, the tax structure is the same. First you add 2 percent to the payable amount as Tourist service Charge. This is the amount that goes to fund the Nepal Tourism Board then you add 0 percent Vat on the amount plus TSC. A total of 12.2 percent.
Since there are plenty of restaurants in Kathmandu and Pokhara it is not necessary nor desirable to book Hotels on full board. Bed and breakfast should suffice in most instances. Please let us know your preferred meal plan while making a booking.
