The Bhutan Gangtey Nature Trek
Duration: 10 Days (Trek 3 Days)
The Gangtey nature trek in Bhutan is another option for the average trekkers/hikers, this Bhutan Gangtey Valley nature trek goes up to 11,200 ft and passes through the isolated and beautiful valleys of Phobjikha, Gogona and Khotokha. Phobjikha (10,000 ft) is the winter home of the endangered black necked cranes which migrates from Siberia.
The Lunana Trek:
Continuing across the north of the Kingdom from Laya, one enters the seldom-visited region known as Lunana. Passing some of the last virgin peaks of the Himalayas, Lunana offers a breath-taking landscape that has previously seen only a handful of foreign visitors. Starting out at Punakha, this unique and challenging itinerary spends three days climbing the steep George leading to Laya, before crossing the mighty KaraKachu La to enter Lunana proper. Seven long days trekking remains to reach the wide open, fertile valleys of Bhumthang. Probably it is one of the most challenging treks in the Himalayas. Itinerary:
